A considered approach
Start with the shape of the move—not a stack of boxes.
Every move has a different rhythm. A well-planned kit starts with the rooms you use most, then leaves breathing room for the details that tend to appear late: kitchen cupboards, closet transitions, storage, and the items you want to reach first.
Choose box size by weight as well as volume. Small boxes are useful for dense, heavier pieces. Medium boxes are the reliable everyday choice. Larger boxes keep light, bulkier belongings together without asking one box to do too much.
As you pack, label the room and a short contents note before you close each box. Add an “Open First” marking to the pieces that will make your first evening easier. The goal is not simply getting everything out of one home—it is knowing where it belongs in the next one.
